05 - South Nutfield to Edenbridge (26km) 22nd March 2014

The forecast had been for rain. It ended up being mostly sunny; though deceptively chilly! Having been locked up in an office all week I'd missed the fact that it had rained so the mud that I had to wade through was something of a surprise! Here's the pics from this section of the trail.

Setting off from home on a lovely morning

It was muddy!

I counted and this tree had been there for about a hundred years. Now its a pile of logs! I'm hoping it just had its life and blew over rather than getting chopped down for no reason. It had been there since my great grand parents had their first child!

So there's probably no better spot to ponder impermanence that sitting on that stump, gazing at the view  south over Kent and eating lunch.

Bluebells ... in a month or two

Views south towards the south downs in the distance

A British pub.... in case you've not seen one before :-)

The old St.Michael's School in Oxted. Closed in 1996, and now converted into flats.
